One quick scroll.
Somehow it's been 30 minutes.

Shot on a phone at the moment of handover. Nothing staged, no one hired.

The ritual

Three steps.
No app graveyards. No willpower.

Stick it on your fridge.

bloc has a strong magnet on the back. The fridge is far enough from the couch that walking is a tiny but real ask. And that is the whole trick.

Lock the noisy apps.

Open the bloc app, pick the apps that quietly steal your evenings, and tap to lock. Calls, messages, maps, and anything you mark essential stay open. You decide what counts as a distraction.

Walk over. Tap. Done.

Want Instagram back for a moment? Walk to the fridge, tap your phone on bloc, and you have it. The walk is the whole point.

With bloc

  • 9:30pmLie down with the book you keep meaning to read.
  • 9:32pmReach for the book. The walk feels too far.

Why not just use Screen Time

The phone cannot be the cure
for the phone.

Your phone was built by people paid to keep you scrolling. It will never be the cure for the scroll it sells.

How long to bypass

Screen Time

Tap, enter passcode, scroll. 3 seconds.

bloc

The walk to the fridge. One tap.

Where the friction lives

Screen Time

On the same phone you are trying to escape.

bloc

On a physical object across the room.

Willpower required

Screen Time

All of it. Every time.

bloc

Almost none. Your legs do the work.

What it costs

Screen Time

Free, and free to ignore.

bloc

₹899 once. Used every day.

Apple Screen Time and Android Digital Wellbeing are great when you remember they exist. bloc works because it does not ask you to remember anything.

From our user research

“I tried passwords, app limits, screen time settings. All failed. It is just one or two taps away. So I bought a second phone for ₹15,000 just to create physical separation.”

From 15+ interviews with working professionals across India. Every single person who tried software based blocking found it useless. The only thing that worked was physical distance.

bloc is not a productivity hack. It is a small, deliberate piece of furniture for your attention. You decide what matters. The walk to the fridge is just the bouncer.

Early voices

You are not the first.
This happened to them too.

“I spent ₹15,000 on a second phone just to create physical distance from my apps. bloc does the same thing for a fraction of the cost.”

“I want to sleep by 10. I lie down at 9:30, reach for my phone for one quick scroll, and the next thing I know it is midnight. Nothing I tried worked.”

Questions

The honest answers.

Shipped from Bir

Built solo, in the open.

bloc is built by one person from a mountain town in Himachal. No team, no office, no spin. Here is what shipped lately.

  • Jun 2026Reworked accessibility across the site. Visible focus states, proper labels, reduced motion support.
  • Jun 2026Made the site analytics honest. Fixed the funnel events that were quietly misfiring.
  • Jun 2026Added a one tap “copy checkout link” so the buy button still works inside Instagram and Bumble browsers.

A note from the founder

I built bloc for myself first. After years of every app blocker, every passcode trick, every digital wellbeing toggle, the phone always won. Your phone was built by people paid to keep you scrolling. Friction inside the phone is fake friction.

So I moved the lock outside the phone. A small object on the fridge that I have to walk to. Most evenings now, I do not get up. The walk is short, but it is enough.

If you have been losing the same hours, this might be what finally helps.
